ORGANISATION BACKGROUND
Kabarole Development Initiative Organization for the
Youth (KADIOFY) started as a
Community Based Organization in 2011 to respond to the Orphan Vulnerable
Children and, youth’s social economic and reproductive health needs and Access
Education, Psycho-social support, Care and Protection Counseling and guidance
and health services.
It is legally
registered with National NGOs Board as NGO in 2017 (Registration NGO number
12840 and serial no. S.5914/13075)
and a Certificate of Incorporation of a company limited by Guarantee with
Registration NO.80020000169628.
VISION:
To have a devoted and dynamic youth, Transparent and
Visible Health, Social and Economic system to all vulnerable families
1. To
contribute towards the reduction of HIV Infections among the Most at Risk
Population (MARPS) in Kabarole district
2. To promote improved Medical Ethics of the
Health workers in Kabarole
3. To promote the reduction of mortality rate a
rising from Non Communicable Diseases (NCDs) among the Ugandans.
4. Advocate
for rights of the orphans and vulnerable children in Kabarole district.
5. To
contribute to the reduction of diseases that raise from poor hygiene and
sanitation.
6. Enhance
the capacity of the youth through vocational training and life skills, for
self-reliance and sustainability.
7. To
enhance increased access to information among the youth through Information and
Communication Technology (ICT) empowerment.
8. To
promote partnership and facilitate increased access to resources among local

PROFILE
KADIOFY
started
as a Community Based Organisation in 2011 to respond to the Orphan Vulnerable
Children and youth’s social economic and reproductive health needs. It is legally registered with National NGOs
Board as NGO in 2017 (Registration NGO
number 12840 S.5914/13075) certificate of incorporation limited by
Guarantee Registration NO.80020000169628.
Since its inception KADIOFY has been involved in
activities directly targeting the Orphan Vulnerable Children (OVCs), youth and
other vulnerable people in the community.
The organisation is aimed at organizing the Children, youth, and other
vulnerable people under one forum, offering them a platform of co-operation for
the promotion of human rights, Vocational Training, and encourages activities
of self-reliance through capacity building of community members in
entrepreneurship.
KADIOFY established a youth friendly Health Centre
in Kabarole District which offers a wide range of youth friendly Health
services including, HIV Counseling and Testing (HCT), psychosocial support,
Immunization, Care, diagnosis and Treatment of Sexually Transmitted Infections
(STIs).
KADIOFY works with other partners in the district
such as the District Health Office and networks of people living with HIV. It
has established a strong network of young positives in Kabarole and the
neighboring districts with the aim of empowering them to overcome stigma,
improve treatment adherence, and positive living. This has been a unique
intervention that has brought on board the young positives on the campaign to
achieve Zero new HIV/AIDS related death, Zero stigma and discrimination, and
Zero New HIV transmission.
The youth who have not contracted the HIV- infection to
Abstain from sex, being faithful to their partners, and avoid early marriages
before they accomplish their vocation.
KADIOFY GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT PROFILE:
KADIOFY is governed by a Patron, Board of Directors,
Management Committee, Staff and Volunteers. Delegates from the member groups
constitute the General Assembly and convene annually to elect the Directors and
the management committee. The staff is composed of 13 full time position and 7
volunteers. Volunteers work full time and part-time with the organization,
undertaking activities which are coordinated by the Executive Director and
staff.
